Mounts air conditioning compressor on the passenger side of the engine and mounts the alternator on the drivers side of the engine. Made of heavy non-coated steel. Kit includes both AC and alternator brackets, necessary hardware, instructions and belt length recommendations. With the increasing use of long water pumps on modified vehicles these are very popular. Bolts to the top water pump and the two front intake bolts. May be used individually or as a pair. Will clear tall valve covers. NO DRILLING OR TAPPING REQUIRED. A hole is provided in the A.C. bracket for a heater hose. Will Not Work With Vortec Heads. Designed for cars with low hood clearance -- Vettes, Camaros, etc. These brackets work great on most vehicles with a wide engine compartment-Trucks, 50-60's cars, etc. These brackets bolt to the head and top water pump bolt holes. The alternator bracket will fit all 1969 and newer heads. The A.C. Compressor bracket fits all G.M. aluminum heads including the fast-burn aluminum heads and may be used on 1969 thru 1986 cast iron heads by drilling and tapping one hole for the upper mounting point. The alternator bracket is designed to accept the popular G.M. alternators, both internally and externally regulated. These include the 10SI, 12SI, and the newer CS130. On the 12 o'clock alternators, the center to center of the mounting holes must be 6-9/16" for use with these brackets. Compressor brackets are designed for the popular Sanden 508 aftermarket compressors. These compressors are used by all of the specialty vehicle air conditioner companies. Most of these companies use these brackets as standard equipment with their air conditioning systems. The Sanden part numbers for the 508 compressors are: V groove Freon 12 - 9285, V groove Freon 134 - 4509, Serpentine Freon 12 - 9537, Serpentine Freon 134 - 4514. Aftermarket Sanden 510 and 709 compressors, while not commonly used, will also fit our brackets. Although some factory air systems use Sanden style compressors, these Will Not Work with these brackets. TECH NOTE: Long water pumps were used on most 1969 and later passenger cars and 1973 and later trucks. Either long or short design pumps can be used on all small blocks, so check to be sure which pump you have before ordering. TECH NOTE: Will not work with Vortec cylinder heads.
